I appreciate the support, but do realize that it does take more than one sperm to get the job done (unless one is doing ICSI).
Why? "The egg is usually covered by a thick layer of cells called the cumulus oophoricus that serve as a blockade to restrict sperm from getting into the egg. It may actually require an assault of many sperm to break down the cumulus sufficiently to let one sperm get through to the egg."

sending mu my prayers for few more than 1 do the job!!
I know this too. But I know most other don't. So I jet let it go when a well intentioned though misinformed cheerleader pipes up with the droll cliche.
Hugs and love!
Well, I hope at least one little guy in the 700,000 pulls through for you! Fingers crossed for good news right in time for the holiday!
This is one of my biggest pet peeves.
Depending my mood at the moment, I either smile a saccarine smile and move on, or I give them an education.
I usually liken it to trying to break a damn with a toothpick.
I'm hoping for a miracle for you..
Trish
True, but only one needs to get in. And all of it's many other 700,000 buddies are there, helping it beat down the door! Sorry for the "droll cliche," just trying to stay positive for you.
I feel this way a lot: everyone always tells us: it only takes one!!
But in the back of my mind, I KNOW it takes a TEAM of sperm to get to the egg--and when you are dealing with poor swimmers, this is a TOUGH job.
I DO hope with all hope for you all...
