On the semen front

I got the results back from DH's staining semen analysis. The result do indicate white blood cells and not immature sperm cells. It makes no sense to me why this would be the case after a thirty-day round of antibiotics. Or why these white blood cells started showing up in September for the first time after four analyses that showed none.

Of course, the count was terrible as usual, the motility was worse than it usually is, and for the first time the morph was bad.

I seriously doubt we will be doing another IUI cycle in December.

This really sucks. I'm so sorry.

Now here's my assvice - feel free to throw it in the gutter - but do you think he could possibly have a kidney stone that is causing an infection in his tract? This past summer, I kept going back to the doctors for pain during/after urinating (although not excruciating) and they told me I had WBC in my urine and put me on 2 doses of antibiotics. It didn't take away the infection. One day, I went to the bathroom and there was this little tiny piece of what looked like sand on my TP. Craziest thing. Haven't had a sign of an infection since.

I need a male anatomy lesson so I'm not sure if the two could be connected or not. I'm just as boggled as you. I just wish you could get some answers. XOXO

Oh -- p.s. -- would you be willing to email me as a way of information sharing about local clinics/RE's?

If not, I completely understand -- but I'm just interested to talk more with people in the area about their experiences.

Thanks,

Pam

Im sorry for the not-so-stellar results.

I need to be sure and ask our RE about Mook's last SA--he had a really bad infection about a year ago--they thought it was meningitis--and his white blood cells were all outta whack then--Im wondering if that has ANY bearing--I know, grabbing at whatever we can get, right?

Any idea when you will decide about another IUI?

Hugs to you...

that is surprising... i was so sure that the new doctor was on the right track with the immature sperm theory. very, very surprising.

do they have any clue why he is not responding to the antibx?

If it helps, my other half has just horrible morph. We got pregnant once, without IVF (total lightening strike of luck though). Shame it nerver worked out.

Good luck with whatever you do,
