I was repeatedly struck by upper gastric pain this weekend and not of the heartburn variety. I finally put in a call to the OB and the doctor on call indicated that it might be my gall bladder. So, I called today to make an appointment as suggested by the doctor on call and had to play the telephone hokey-pokey and hemming and hawing about maybe I should wait for my scheduled appointment in two weeks. Umm, no. If there is something wrong with my gall bladder, I would like to know now, thank you very much.
When complaining to DH about the runaround, I said I didn't know why they make women wait until 10-12 weeks to come in for their first appointment anyway. He replied that most women are probably not as paranoid about their pregnancies. Yes, paranoid! I guess that would be me.
Personally, I think he is dead wrong. I think that even fertile women (especially those in their first pregnancies) are just as anxious about getting in to the doctor initally.
He is so in trouble.

Oh ick! I hope it gets better for your sake! I just had a friend go through the gall-bladder/pregnancy stuff. :(
xo
Oh, yuck. I hope it turns out to be nothing. And, yeah, I think it is ridiculous to make you wait that long to come in.
Sorry you are in pain. Maybe there are women out there who are just completely unaware of the risks, and live in blissful peace when they get pregnant. That's hard for me to imagine, but it could happen, I guess.
I can hardly wait for the water to boil. Let alone find out if I'm pregnant ASAP!!! I'm going through IVF#1 and I know I going to drive my RE crazy. Thats why they get paid the BIG bucks. Right!
Hope you start to feel better :)
I hope you are doing all right. Let us know how the appt goes. And you might be right, but for me, the first time that I was innocently pregnant, I was surprised to hear how long they make you wait. But I just shrugged and put the date on my calendar. I figured "they" knew best. Isn't it funny how IF changes things?
Oh boy does he have alot to learn about paranoid pregnant women!! He IS so in trouble!
I do hope you stop getting hte round around.
The only women not worried about their pregnancies are the ones ignorant enough to not know they are pregnant.
