Moment of truth
I called in my glucose readings for the last week to the pregnancy and diabetes clinic. All of my post-meal readings are within range, but all but one of my fasting numbers are too high. I am just waiting for the call back now. I just know it's going to mean an appointment with the endicronologist and insulin for me.

Oh Mrs. Shoes...boo. I am so sorry about this but here's what I hope for you -- that you can be gentle with yourself, that you can be assured with the knowledge that you have good care with doctors who just want the very best for you -- that you have done and are doing the very best for your little one -- that this is just one of those little twists of metabolic fate - but it is one that can be managed.
Still, all that said -- I understand it sucks.

I'm sorry that you're going to have to add insulin to your regime, but I think you should be really proud of keeping all of your post-meal numbers in range. That is really impressive.
