We told DH's parents last Wednesday night about the IF and they were very supportive, but I get the feeling they don't want to talk about it much. MIL did ask a few questions which led DH to explain that the problem was predominantly low sperm count, to which MIL replied, "Just like your dad." Particularly ironic since DH is adopted.
Anyhow, they don't seem to understand how much more difficult adoption is now compared to when they adopted in the '70's. They offered to help us out financially, which was particularly nice, but they have given us so much that I would hate to have to ask them for money.
I know they will love our child, whether it is biological or not. I only wish my parents felt the same way.

Thanks for sending me your way. (it's BARL5 from FF). I like your blog. It's to the point and conveys your thoughts beautifully.
As for the adoption thing.. I just found out that DH's parents will be disappointed if we adopt. sigh. My parents will be fine. Why do they care?? DH's family have also thought until recently that we just weren't getting pg because we weren't dtd enough. sigh again. dumb butts.
I'm sorry the IL's gave you a weird comment. If DH is adopted, its not like he could have inherited MFI from his adoptive father...I don't get it.
And I'm sorry your parents aren't being supportive. It just makes things that much harder.
I'm sending lots of hugs your way.
XOXO,
Kristen
B-Definite sigh there. If only sex could cure infertility. Thanks for the blog props. :)
kristen- I actually thought the comment about DH being like his dad was kind of funny. Sometimes, we all forget that he is adopted. It's a good thing.
