Abortion for the Infertile

I am reading the latest SCOTUS opinion Gonzalez v. Carhart regarding the constitutionality of the partial-birth abortion ban. I must admit that I have kind of waffled on the abortion issue. Finding it morally wrong and distasteful, but a necessary evil, of sorts.
However, since we began trying to have a baby and have learned it is going to be an uphill battle and now that I have seen more and more ultrasounds of pregnant women, it becomes harder and harder to justify the one million abortions performed in the United States every year. And reading the grisly details of the partial birth abortion procedure turns my stomach. I just can't wrap my mind around the claim that it's about a woman's "health." Now, in some circumstances, it truly is a life-saving issue, but discarding a baby just because it's unwanted? I want to beg these women to please just let me have that baby because it is wanted so very much by me.
